GETTING TO THE GOLD COAST

Need a bit of help working out your best travel options for Spilt Milk? We’ve got the know-how on getting to The Gold Coast this December.

FROM BRISBANE

DRIVING

Brisbane is a short 1hr 40min drive away. Due to limited parking, we highly recommend you make a weekend of it, book some accommodation, and use the bus services available to access the festival (find out more here).

BUS

Greyhound offers a daily bus service from Brisbane Coach Station to Surfers Paradise, taking approximately 1hr 20 mins. Book online here.

TRAIN

You can take the train from Brisbane Airport to Helensvale Station then change to the Light Rail to Southport or Surfers Paradise to reach your accommodation, or use the festival shuttle buses. Normal heavy rail services will run on event day. Heads up – the last train service from Helensvale travelling north is 22:54pm on the Sunday.

INTERSTATE

DRIVING

Sydney is 847km from the Gold Coast, and if you’re planning on a road trip it’ll take you a solid nine hours via the Pacific Highway. Add some extra time to grab some food or break up the epic journey and stop an extra night or two.

If you’re from Melbourne and fancy an ultra marathon-style 17 hour roadie, we salute you. If it was us, we’d just go to Spilt Milk Ballarat. Check out our other locations here.

BUS

If you can make it to Sydney, you can make it to Surfers. Greyhound offers an overnight bus service from Sydney to Surfers Paradise, which takes approximately 15hrs. Book online here and start thinking about what snacks to bring.

FLYING

Gold Coast Airport is pretty well connected to the rest of Aus with regular flights on Virgin, Qantas, Rex and Jetstar. From the airport, the best way to the city is to book an airport shuttle bus with Con-x-ion Airport shuttle. There will also be City of Gold Coast public buses 700, 705 and 711 travelling from the airport to Surfers Paradise which take anywhere between 1-1.5 hours, pending traffic. All in all, a pretty sweet deal.
